Review of Khost Airport Development Plans
Khost is one of the border provinces of the country, located in the southeast of Afghanistan and has a large production capacity.
The first attempt to build an airport in the province took place in 2006.
The purpose of laying the foundation stone of the airport is to create facilities in the field of air transport, including the connection of Khost with the capital Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan.
Khost Airport is being built at a cost of AFN 1.8 billion from the development budget of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
In the first phase, the perimeter wall (fence) of the airport is 6 km long, 3 meters high and has six guard towers, at a cost of (1.2) million AFN. Completed.
In the second phase of the airport, the soil test runway - design and construction, ramp and taxiway, construction of the terminal, construction of the fire station was completed on 2/3/7 at a cost of (2) million Afghanis.
The third phase of runway design, design, taxi ramps and airport ramps were completed by a team of engineers from the Ministry of Civil Aviation at a cost of 1.6 million AFN on 1/4/7.

Phase IV In this phase, Khost airport firefighting building, administrative building, tower control building, ring gravel road, internal asphalt road and other sections were completed at a cost of 5 million Afghanis.
Currently, the development work of Khost Airport is being carried out by the Civil Aviation Authority, which is currently working on the construction of a terminal, construction of an ATM, water tower, parking of vehicles and construction of air traffic control. The development budget of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been spent on AFN 5 million and work has progressed by more than 5%. The construction of the terminal will be inaugurated in mid-January next year and international flights will start شی.
